Before school ended, I was very clear about the things that I wanted to do for the summer – shoot some hoops with mateo (or at least teach him how to); fInish jogging and preparing breakfast before everybody wakes up every morning; do some push-ups and sit-ups before going to bed every night; trim down to a hundred and forty pounds; basically lose some weight.
Unfortunately, the only thing I was able to do is the breakfast part. As a matter of fact, the only physical exercise I’ve had since day 1 of the vacation is dishwashing.
The sadder part about it however is that vacation is almost ready to draw to a close. In about a week’s time, I will have to go back to work and face the sad reality that I have lost yet another good chance to be fitter, healthier and slimmer. But I’m not losing heart.
Besides, I can always get some diet pills if no other chance arrives.
