March 7, 2008. It’s been 8 years since andrea agreed to make me her boyfriend. Or to put in a more romantic light, it’s been 8 beautiful years since she said yes and agreed to love me back. Yes, it’s been that long already. And I, being the stupid, forgetful, pathetic creature that I am, forgot to even greet her this morning before I left for work.

Even though I know she was still a bit groggy (from having just woken up) to remember what day it was, it’s still not an excuse for me to forget. The thing is, I left the house with almost nothing in mind but work. Really pathetic.

I only remembered what day it was when I was already entering the date on a particular document that I was editing at work. I was too late that by the time andrea got to school, she already knew I forgot that it was our anniversary.

So to make up for my stupidity, I asked her out on a date this afternoon - a simple afternoon getaway - far from work, from babsy, from everything else that has been keeping our minds preoccupied for the last few days. We went to the nearest mall, SM Taytay, where we took our time walking and then spent the rest of the afternoon dining at Pizza Hut.

During snack/dinner, we started reminiscing about our earlier times together, those times when we had very little worries about other things but ourselves, about those times when we would meet up after work and eat dinner together before accompanying her home, and about those times when the world seemed to revolve only around us. You see, we’ve had so little of those these past months. And even though we try our best to sneak and steal a few moments away from mateo, we still usually end up spending our free time either with him or trying to earn extra bucks while blogging.

That’s why I was really glad that we were able to finally spend some quality time with each other this afternoon. And although it was just but a few hours long, it’s been a wonderful and refreshing getaway for me. I just hope she had a great time too.
