Instead of describing in words everything that happened chronologically, here’s more or less a slide show of the events that took place all the way from the preparations to the first day at the beach.

Of course, before we could embark on our journey to Boracay, we had to fix our things first. So we had a last minute shopping at Trinoma…

Then after a good night sleep at grandma and grandpa’s place, we woke up early next day to go to the airport where we had to wait a few hours in order to board the plane. Poor mateo! He was bored to death! So what else do you think we did?

When it was finally time for boarding, andrea and mateo were allowed to enter ahead of everyone else so andrea took the chance to get more shots.

At first, we planned on getting the window seat, but Tito Bogs begged us to give him the seat instead because it was his first time to fly… so we did. Andrea then had to extend her arms across but still managed to take a good picture of the wing. By the way, the dark speck isn’t a helicopter. It’s just a plain old window stain. Good old PAL planes!

Before takeoff, mateo was already sound asleep, blissfully unaware of the plane’s movements. He remained this way until shortly after the plane landed.

When we got to Kalibo airport, guess what’s the first thing we did!

hello kalibo

Mateo was still so groggy that he didn’t even mind posing as a native Ati-Atihan dancer.

For obvious and practical reasons, we didn’t take any shots of the land travel and the boat ride. Instead, the next shots we took were already at the resort. Here’s mateo enjoying his freshly inflated toys.

And here’s andrea trying on her beach outfit and getting a slight taste of the sun and the powder-like sand.

It was an amazing and memorable journey filled with so many firsts. I just hope there’s more to follow.
