With our school’s mission of targeting global improvement by addressing environmental solutions, I won’t be surprised if we eventually gear towards online learning or computer-based teaching. I mean, we’ve already started with paperless homeworks and activity sheets – an idea to conserve paper by just turning in assignments through emails. We’ve also been relying on the school’s own website for updates, programs, and events for the past month. What do you think would be next?

Everything in the school is slowly becoming online-based or, at the very least, computer-dependent. As a matter of fact, most of the teachers there are already buying laptops of their own. Even the students have recently been purchasing personal computers of their own too. We’ve also installed two wireless routers to make the internet more accessible to the different faculty members in the campus. It’s really starting to happen.

Pretty soon, even our curriculum will change. I expect we’ll be incorporating eLearning tools in our lessons and activities. Teachers would eventually consult eLearning companies like ResourceBridge for materials to aid them in their deliveries. And students would be required to bring their own computers to school for lessons.

It’s pretty scary if you think about it. But I guess that’s what moving forward means to some people. Anyway, if moving forward will eventually lead to environmental and global improvement, then by all means, let’s all get scared.
