cafe at last

It was too late when we realized that when we moved to Antipolo, we also moved away from the closest cafe to us.

You see, because there are no Starbucks outlet yet in Taytay (the place where we formerly resided in), andrea and I had to settle for the closest cafe there which was Mocha Blends. Eventually we grew to like their coffee, the food and the place. In fact, when we’re not home nor in the mall, we usually stay there. It was a relaxing place where time seems to stand still inside. We loved it so much so that it even became a regular date place for us before mateo came. Unfortunately, we had to transfer.

Now, after moving away from Taytay, we settled here in Antipolo. And although we find the area just right for us and mateo, we realized it was still missing something – a cafe! We weren’t able to see any familiar cafe nearby. No Starbucks, Mocha Blends, or Seattle’s Best. Not even Coffee Bean or Figaro or Coffee Experience.

There was nothing. It looked really gloomy, until one day, on our way to buy some groceries, we saw something along the main road – Cafina Cafe. I admit that, at first, we didn’t want to try it out since the name wasn’t familiar at all. But eventually, the search for coffee brought us back to the place. And on one fateful night, before we brought mateo to his doctor, we tried it out.

It wasn’t bad. I mean, it’s not Starbucks, but it wasn’t bad either. The place had an ambiance. The people were really nice and the coffee would do. We finally found a cafe at a last. Yehey!

accident prone job

Andrea’s grandfather used to work in the construction industry. He was a foreman and he had a lot of stories of his life at work. It was interesting talking to him about the different buildings he made and the dream buildings he still wanted to be involved with. Unfortunately, he also had a lot of stories about some of his men getting into an accident while on the job. Being in the construction industry is really an accident-prone job. It was also sad that only a few were aware of the accident claims that they could actually make. According to Andrea’s grandfather it’s actually good that a lot of his men now are more informed of their rights. He’s only hoping that there wouldn’t be more accidents.

4 weeks to go

Finally, it’s just 4 weeks to go before this school year ends. I can’t wait to put everything that’s happened behind me. It’s been so long since I last ached this much for a fresh start, a makeover, or a clean slate.  It feels like so much has happened especially these past few days that I can’t help but want to forget everything.

I want to move and not worry about anything again, at least for a short while. I want to relax, sit back and smile again even for just a brief time. I want to go on a break. Luckily, I only need to wait for 4 more weeks.
