Mateo learned to blow on the morning of his birthday. It never occurred to Andrea and me to teach him how to blow out his candle. A day before his birthday, we started singing the happy birthday song to him and he’d clap along with us. The next day, he’d make blowing actions whenever we’d say ‘blow’. He still needed our help though when it was his turn to really blow out his candle.
